Situated just 90 minutes from Cape Town in the beautiful Overberg region, Greyton is home to the charming Post House.
The Post House was originally constructed in 1860 and is one of the oldest buildings in Greyton. The main building was used as a trading post and lodging for tired travellers. The Post House country pub, which is well known for the Bells whiskey advert, was also once Greyton’s post office.

The Post House is situated in the historic town of Greyton, in the Western Cape, South Africa. Our classic rooms are tastefully decorated with neutral tones and splashes of color. All the classic rooms are en-suite, 5 of which have a shower and 1 a Victorian bath / overhead shower. Each room as a patio with seating overlooking our gardens. The Post House is walking distance away from restaurants
The Post House was proclaimed a National Monument on 28 December 1993 and the unveiling of the plaque was done by former State President F.W. de Klerk.
Our guest rooms and restaurant have recently been elegantly refurbished and offer guests accommodation for weekend getaways, midweek conferences and intimate country weddings.
Greyton boasts a variety of art galleries, restaurants, coffee shops and quaint stores.
Visit the Greyton Saturday morning market and take home delicious local pestos, cheeses, preserves and jams, a variety of baked goods and handmade items. Breakfast rolls, lemon curd pancakes and many more wonderful products are on offer.
Greyton is fast becoming a popular mountain biking town offering routes for all levels of riders. Annual mountain biking events take place throughout the year. Greyton has proudly hosted the ABSA Cape Epic in 2009 and it will be hosting the ABSA Cape Epic event again in 2014.
